The beautiful setting of Wassand Hall is the ideal place for a familly visit. Our secluded estate has woodlands, natural ponds, a stumpery and a bird hide overlooking Hornsea Mere. It attracts a huge variety of birds, animals and insects that can be found, spotted, identified and classified. The Arboretum is home to over seventy interesting trees including three Champion trees, mature specimens and younger saplings. They provide an excellent resource to inspire children’s imagination and questioning skills.
OPEN DAY ACTIVITIES

On Open Days activities for children will be provided at the admission hut with instructions. These are self-led and will encourage children to observe and look for clues or objects around the walks and the grounds. Parent supervision is necessary and we suggest children follow the Countryside Code ‘Respect, Protect and Enjoy.’ Please ensure that flowers are not picked and litter is taken home.
On open days children under 10 are free. No need to book, turn up on the day.

GROUPS
Brownies, Guides, Cubs and Scouts groups are welcome to use the woodland area and activities can be planned to enable them to gain badges. This can be arranged with Mrs Power (contact).
