Balmy weekend for the first open days of 2012

Open days at Wassand in Jubilee year began with hundreds of visitors enjoying clear blue skies, balmy European temperatures and the now legendary hospitality and catering of our tea rooms. With the Yorkshire Youth Orchestras concert on 15 July and Vintage Car Rally on 27th August there is much to look forward to this summer.

First in Show!

Wassand won seven first prizes as well as a second and third place in the Seaton & Sigglesthorne Flower Show on Saturday 6th August.  The peas, onions, courgettes, carrots, broad and runner beans all excelled in their class bringing huge smiles to all who have worked so hard in the walled garden this year.  Congratulations!

Wassand on TV

Hairy Bikers, the popular motobike-riding cooking duo, visited Wassand last year for their “Mums Know Best” season broadcast on BBC 2 this spring.
